How I, a non-programmer, used AI to create a working formspace.design module, demonstrating that expertise is more important than syntax.

In my life, I've journeyed from a coach and director to a landscape designer, but I've never been a professional programmer. Nevertheless, when I conceived formspace.design, I firmly knew I wanted to build it myself, using modern tools, particularly artificial intelligence. The moment I first presented a fully functional module, created by me, to a group of experienced developers, was a true revelation, both for them and for me.

My experience in business, especially in landscape design, taught me one important thing: if you want something done right, show how it works, or do it yourself. I clearly articulated the problem, described the desired functionality, drew interface prototypes, and AI helped me translate this into code. I remember that day very well. I gathered several developer acquaintances – people I had consulted with in the early stages when I was just formulating the idea.   3. Iterative approach: Don't be afraid to make mistakes and correct them quickly. Thanks to AI, the speed of iterations increases manifold. You can test hypotheses and get results almost instantly.
  4. Focus on MVP: Don't strive for perfection from day one. Create a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that solves a key problem, and gradually build up functionality. My first module was simple but functional.
  5. Continuous learning: The world of technology changes very quickly. Be prepared to constantly learn and adapt to new tools and approaches. At my age, this is especially important, but entirely feasible.

They also open doors to the world of development for non-specialists, like myself, creating new products and ideas that might otherwise not see the light of day. It's more of a partnership than a replacement.
